Velingrad is a town in southern Bulgaria, in the Pazardzhik Region and the second largest in the region after the district town of Pazardzhik. It was formed in 1948 by the merging of Ladzhene, Kamenitza and Chepino villages. It is named to the partisan Vella Peeva.
